2011 Skills Canada National Competition
The 2011 Skills Canada National Competition took place on June 2nd and 3rd at ExpoCite in Quebec City. The Collision Repair industry was well represented at the event, with 28 competitors participating in two onsite competitions. The huge display area featured Virtual Painting, a live Web Feed from the technical school, a Colour Blindness Test and great student giveaways. Over 40 volunteers made the event a huge success and attracted the attention of the over 25,000 students that attended.
Since the CCIF Skills Program was created in 2008, the Collision Industry has increased their participation at Skills Competitions across Canada. It is the support of great companies who provide financial support, volunteers, materials and promotional items that make it possible for the industry to be one of the top attractions at Skills Canada events. The collision industry is being seen by over 175,000 students, parents and educators each year, and it continues to grow as more provinces and territories introduce Car Painting and Autobody Repair competitions! Through participation at Skills Canada and career events, the CCIF Skills Program is encouraging young energetic people to choose careers in Collision Repair.
